Architectural & Property Photography in Birmingham

Looking for an architectural photographer in Birmingham who can show your buildings and spaces at their best?

I’m Ross, a Birmingham-based photographer with years of experience capturing architecture, cityscapes and interiors. I work with architects, developers, agencies, construction firms and property professionals to create striking images that highlight design, detail and context.

As a Birmingham photographer who regularly shoots the city’s skyline and architecture, I understand how to show buildings in their best light. Whether it’s a new development, a refurbished interior or a landmark building, I’ll provide a set of images that you can use for portfolios, awards submissions, marketing, PR and social media.

Professional photography for architecture, property & interiors

Strong architectural and property photography helps people understand how a space feels – not just how it looks on paper.

I regularly shoot:

  • Residential developments and housing schemes

  • Commercial buildings and office spaces

  • Hospitality, retail and leisure interiors

  • Refurbishments, fit-outs and renovations

  • Public realm and urban projects

  • Heritage buildings and cultural venues

Together, we’ll plan a shoot that captures the key angles, details and spaces that matter most to your project.

My approach to architectural & property photography

Careful planning makes a big difference to the final images.

Before the shoot, we’ll talk through:

  • The purpose of the images (portfolio, marketing, awards, sales, press)

  • The most important features and viewpoints to capture

  • The best time of day and lighting conditions for the building

  • Any access requirements, restrictions or operational considerations

On the day, I’ll work methodically through your shot list, while also looking for strong compositions, clean lines and details that tell the story of the space. I pay close attention to:

  • Vertical lines and perspective

  • Light, shadow and reflections

  • Styling and tidiness within interiors

  • How people move through and interact with the space (if appropriate)

The result is a set of images that are both visually strong and practically useful.

What you’ll receive

After the shoot, you’ll receive a curated selection of professionally edited images, ready to use across your channels.

Typically, this includes:

  • A secure online gallery to view and download your images

  • High-resolution files suitable for print, large format and awards entries

  • Web-optimised files for websites, listings and social media

  • A mix of wide establishing shots, key elevations, interior overviews and details

If you have specific technical requirements – for example, image dimensions for design layouts or press – I can work to those from the outset.

Architectural & property photography in and around Birmingham

Based in Birmingham, I’m well placed to cover projects across:

  • The city centre and wider Birmingham area

  • Business parks, industrial estates and out-of-town sites

  • Residential neighbourhoods and suburban developments

  • Wider West Midlands and surrounding regions

If your project spans multiple locations or phases, I can plan a shoot schedule that fits around access and site operations.

FAQs

  • It depends on the orientation and surroundings. I’ll advise on the best time of day for light on key elevations, and we can also look at dusk/twilight options if you’d like that evening glow.

  • Ideally, yes. Simple things like clearing clutter, aligning furniture and checking lighting make a big difference. I can provide a basic checklist in advance and make small adjustments on the day.

  • Absolutely, if it suits the project. Including people can help show scale and how the space is used. We can either work with staff/residents or, where appropriate, keep people more anonymous and blurred.

  • I regularly work with architects, developers, contractors, interior designers, agencies, property managers and agents. If multiple stakeholders need access to the images, we can discuss licensing up front.
