For some time now I have wanted to have a go at some video work. After flittering around with the occasional video like the one for my competition, I decided to have a go at something a bit more meaningful. All I needed was a subject.
After scratching my head for a while, I decided to share why I love Birmingham and why I do what I do. Now I will be the first to admit that this video is a little rough around the edges. For instance, I didn’t plan what I was going to say, I just rambled on in front of a microphone for a bit and threw in chunks of it here and there.
The ‘video’ side of it was far more fun as this is quite similar to my stills photography. It’s just about looking for angles and compositions. Or at least that’s what I thought, it turned out to be way more challenging than I imagined, but I am fairly pleased with the results.
A little side note – the observant of you will notice that the alarm on the first scene shows the time ‘4.00am’ – that is real, that’s what it takes to get those sunrise shots! You may also notice that the date says ‘June 4th’ this is because I have put off posting this video for several reason, most notably because I hate being on camera in any shape or form, including listening to my own monotonous voice!
So why is this important? This is where you all come in, I am looking to make some short videos to create a bit of a show-reel so I am looking for local businesses or groups that would be interested in collaborating. This is a good opportunity for both parties to experiment, try different things and hopefully create some cool short videos. So please get in touch with your ideas.
As for the video itself, I hope you like it and apologies in advance as I may appear on more of them in the future! After watching, please hit the ‘Subscribe’ button on my Youtube channel to be kept up-to-date of my futures adventures in the world of video!
